Welcome Message
Dear Friends,
Neuroscience knowledge has advanced rapidly in recent years, and this area of knowledge is a great promise to increase our understanding and eventual therapeutic approach to the most diverse diseases of the nervous system. Thus, the I South Brazilian Symposium on Neuroscience (#SSBN19) was launched for undergraduate and postgraduate students, researchers and professionals in the areas of health, biochemistry, biology, medicine, biomedicine, pharmacology, toxicology, physiotherapy and related fields, interested in knowing, acquiring or transmitting experiences in the study of neuroscience and new therapeutic options for the treatment of diseases of the nervous system.
In addition, the first symposium will focus on the following thematic areas: 1. Neurobiological mechanisms of neurodegenerative and immune-mediated diseases; 2. Neurobiology of neurological and mental diseases; 3. Immunosenescence and inflammaging; 4. Big data and Neurosciences; 5. Artificial Intelligence and Neurosciences; and 6. Innovation in Neuroscience and Neurophysiology.
The geographical proximity between the different South American research groups enables the participation of students and researchers in this event and the formation and confirmation of concrete scientific links between the different groups and countries, especially Latin American countries. Thus, the event will enable the dissemination of innovation and technological development through the proposed exhibitions and workshops.
Finally, the Symposium will be aligned with some of the seventeen sustainable development goals established by the United Nations Agenda 2030, such as quality education, health and well-being for the general population, not excluding minorities. The event will be integrated with society for social inclusion, inequality reduction, economic development, and sustainable communities.
